itt SPRING 2021 Newsletter
By Tariq Ismail on April 19th, 2021
Hello Parents and Players of ITT,
I would first like to thank everyone, both players and parents/families, that have supported us during this past year. We could not have made it through this last year without you all and we hope that we have made you and your children feel appreciated throughout your ITT experience.
I believe we have finally reached an agreement for me to lease and eventually purchase North Ridge from the current owners, hoping to have a signed deal by the end of the month. Prices have really skyrocketed in building materials making it a very challenging and expensive endeavor, but I think it is essential to have our own home place for all our kids to grow not only as tennis players, but also as successful young people. Therefore, we believe that this is a necessary step for us to take in order for the program to thrive and continue to grow.
We will be releasing a quarterly newsletter from now on to update parents and players about upcoming events, changes in the program, advice, and many other useful bits of information that we would like to pass on to our ITT team. We are also planning to start a blog and informational youtube channel to help guide our players and parents through their tennis experience.
Thank you again for all your continued support of ITT, we truly appreciated it.
Sincerely,
Tariq Ismail
CEO - Ismail Tennis Training LLC.

Program Reviews
I am very sorry to bother everyone with this, but if you could please do a google review for Ismail Tennis Training I would really appreciate it. All players and parents reviews are appreciated! Just google us (Ismail Tennis Training) and then write a quick google review, it would help us so much in attracting new customers and growing the program. |
summer news
ITT JR PROGRAM UPDATE
This past school year our players have have really good results in both USTA tournaments and high school tournaments/matches with several tournament victories and high school distinctions. We are extremely proud of all our kids!
With that being said we want to take the program to the next level and help our kids do even better for the upcoming years and this cannot be done without more player, parents, and coach involvement both on and off the court. We have established a couple of issues that we think if resolved can help really take our program to the next level. The main issue we have noticed is that our players do not spend enough time on the court. Based on the USTA/ITF recommendations and compared to successful programs from East side of Cleveland and other programs from around the world. Players 12+ should be spending at least 12 hours on court a week minimum to play at a competitive USTA level. That is why this Summer ITT will be offering four days of group training, per a week for our intermediate (250) to our elite (Masters 1000) level players. We plan to use the increased time with our players to work more on serve, return, match-play and tactical awareness. We would really love to see all of our players present at all the drills they can attend. We have tried to price the drills in a affordable way as well to make it possible to attend all the group sessions. We will be running some groups at the same time to allow some mixing between the levels. This is to help players experience to both higher and lower level players because it is essential that players play against players who are better, worse, and the same, in order to improve their own games. On the high end, we plan to invite ex-ITT players and college players to play in to lift the level, as well as play in ourselves to ensure a high level of competition. You can find our ladder (ITT Player List By Level), that shows players where they fit into their group based on UTR, match-play, and coaches viewpoints. Note: A player must attend the lowest level of their drill offered in order to be able to attend a higher level combined class. This means say your child is in 500 level, they must attend the 250-500 level drill both days in order to be able to attend the 500-1000 level drill. We feel that players must committed in order to be able to play at that higher level. |
ITT Community Programs - Beginner to Novice players
This summer ITT is planning to reach as many new and young players as possible through its community programs. North ridge community tennis association (nrcta)
North Ridge Community Tennis Association (NRCTA) is a non-profit that we are trying to start. The aim of this non-profit is to grow the game of tennis with affordable programs, build revenue through grants, programs, and fundraising, and then use that revenue to support families and players with their tennis development needs. We feel that tennis is very expensive and that this approach may help some players get the training they need despite their socio-economic status.
If anyone is interested in serving on the board please let me know. We are looking to build a board of 3-5 community members who love tennis and want to help this dream of ours come true. Tariq will be serving as the non-voting Executive Director, meaning that he will do a lot of the leg work, but he will not have any say in how the board plans to use funds and operate.
We are also looking for volunteers(unpaid) to help run our programs community programs, if any kids are looking for volunteer/community service hours please let us know. We are holding a program at South Park Rec. Center in Elyria every Saturday morning from 9-10am throughout the month of May, we currently need volunteers, both adults and juniors, to come and help out if possible. Please reach out to Coach T if you are interested.
